Valorie Kondos Field is the retired head coach of the seven time NCAA Champion, 22-time Regional and 18-time Pac 12 Champion UCLA Women’s Gymnastics team. A UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, the four-time “National Coach of the Year” was named “West Region Coach” of the Year and Pac 12 “Coach of the Century” for her solid track record as a preeminent coach.
Dr. Cherina Betters is the Chief of Equity and Access for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. She has been in the field of K-12 education for over two decades in the capacity of teacher and administrator serving the students, families and communities of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The first in her family to graduate from college, Dr. Betters has a deep appreciation for education and the educational process. Dr. Betters has been recognized by numerous organizations for her service to educational equity including being named 23rd Senate District of California Woman of the Year, and Transformational Change Leader by California State University, San Bernardino.
Andy Core is a credentialed, award-winning thought leader on increasing employee engagement, productivity, and wellness motivation. His talent lies in helping hard-working, conscientious adults thrive at work and in their personal lives. Core has spent the past 20 years researching ways to equip people better to succeed in today’s hectic society. By doing so, he helps organizations build teams that cost less, have better attitudes and accomplish more. Core has received awards and acclaim, including being voted one of the Top 5 Global Health/Healthcare Speakers for 2012 and one of the Top 100 Productivity Experts to follow on Twitter (#33) and co-hosting the PBS affiliate television show Fighting Fat.
Chase Mielke has been awarded multiple honors, including being a Michigan Teacher of the Year nominee and a Allegan County “Outstanding People for Education” recipient. For his work minimizing the achievement gap with at-risk high schoolers, his Positive Psychology program received a Michigan Association of School Administrator’s “Winner’s Circle Award.” The program teaches concepts of positive emotion, engagement, meaning, and accomplishment to hundreds of students each year, especially at-risk high schoolers. Consistently, students reduce failure rates by at least 50% each year.
Rachel Shaw is the president and principal consultant of Shaw HR Consulting, Incorporated. With 20 years of executive-level human resources experience, Shaw is recognized nationwide as a leader in helping public and private sector employers manage their most challenging personnel issues. Shaw and her team provide comprehensive solutions to employers on how to successfully manage the interconnected roles of human resources, workers’ compensation and disability compliance to successfully reduce litigation, the costs of claims and improve employee-employer relations throughout the process. Shaw is known as the authority on how to implement and manage the FEHA/ADA Disability Interactive Process for candidates and employers.
San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ Ted Alejandre is ACSA State Superintendent of the Year for 2022. In his role as County Superintendent, he works collaboratively with educators, families, other agencies and stakeholders to provide advocacy, leadership and services for and on behalf of more than 406,000 K–12 students attending public schools in San Bernardino County.
With more than three decades of experience in public education, Alejandre has served in several positions at the district level including principal and director of fiscal services.
