New at CSJPA

Over 10.4 million people in California are registered to participate in this year’s “Great California ShakeOut” at 10:20a.m. on 10/20/2016. Participating is a great way to reduce risk of injury in the event of an earthquake. It will help schools and families prepare to survive and recover quickly from future big earthquakes. Check out www.shakeout.org/california/resources for ShakeOut drill manuals and safety action guides.
The Great California ShakeOut started in 2008 as a statewide emergency response exercise. California is on the convergence of two tectonic plates: the North American plate and the Pacific plate. Where these two plates move against each other, called fault lines, earthquakes occur frequently. Here in Southern California, we live and work near the San Andreas fault so we must be prepared for the next big earthquake. Join CSJPA and millions of Californians in “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” at 10:20a.m. on Thursday, October 20th.
